Low-Temperature Valves

Trouble-Free Operation at Temperatures Down to -15 °C

For your low-temperature applications, Q Plus has developed valves together with YPC. These valves are equipped with HNBR seals that remain flexible down to -40 °C. In addition, low-temperature greases have been applied. This allows us to guarantee trouble-free operation at temperatures down to -15 °C.

You can also use these valves at even lower temperatures. They have been tested in a specially acquired climate chamber, and operation down to -25 °C showed no issues.

Dry and Filter the Air to Prevent Ice Formation

In cold applications, the air in the pneumatic system must be dry to avoid ice formation caused by condensation. Dry the air until the dew point is approximately 15 °C below the ambient or system temperature. Filter the air to 50 µm or finer.

External Lubrication Is Not Necessary

External lubrication is not required for these valves, and we recommend not to lubricate. If you do choose to lubricate, you must continue to do so, as the factory lubrication will be washed away. For low-temperature applications, the lubricant used must not affect the behaviour of the valve.
