AluSic Aluminium Piping Systems

AluSic Aluminium Piping Systems

The AluSic piping system is built from 4 or 6 metre long chromated aluminium tubes and nylon push-in fittings.

The blue powder coating on the outside of the tube complies with the colour requirements of NEN 3050.

Thanks to the length of the AluSic tubes and the ease of installation, the system can be installed very quickly. Even with little experience you can set up the system in no time.

Materials

  1. Union nut - Nylon
  2. Housing - Nylon (or aluminium)
  3. O-ring – NBR
  4. Bushing – Black nylon
  5. Grip ring – Stainless steel 301

Pressure and temperature range

An AluSic system is TÜV-certified up to 12.5 bar. The system is also suitable for vacuum applications down to -0.8 bar. Temperature range from -20 °C to +70 °C. Please note that the ambient temperature affects the maximum pressures the system can handle. If in doubt, always contact us.

Application with water

The SicoAir system from AluSic can be used for transporting water, free from additives and contamination. Please take the following into account:

  • The system must be grounded to prevent electrostatic corrosion. This means that each tube must be grounded (or connected to each other). The fittings act as insulators.
  • The system is not suitable for drinking water.
  • Maximum water pressure 12.5 bar. Extra pressure must be considered because water is not compressible. As a safety margin we apply a factor of 3. Based on this, AluSic assumes a working pressure of 4.1 bar and a maximum pressure of 12.5 bar.
  • Based on water at ambient temperature (20 °C).
  • Extra pipe brackets must be used, considering the weight and potential water hammer. AluSic provides warranty on the components. Warranty on the functionality of the system is always assessed (in case of claims) based on correct installation according to the installation instructions and the use of proper tools.

Pipe support

When mounting, keep a minimum distance of 20 cm between pipe supports and fittings. Always ensure that pipe ends are supported with brackets – never leave them hanging loose.

∅ Pipe – Maximum distance between clamps

  • Ø 20 → 3 m
  • Ø 25 → 3.5 m
  • Ø 32 → 4 m
  • Ø 40 → 4 m
  • Ø 50 → 4 m
  • Ø 63 → 4 m
