Proper sealing depends on using the right materials

To effectively seal or secure fittings and piping systems, it is essential to use the right materials. When using liquid sealants or threadlockers, it is recommended to use both a cleaner (Loctite 7063) and an activator (Loctite 7649).

Sealing or locking?

If a connection only needs to be sealed, a sealing compound is recommended. In that case, keep in mind that the connection must not be subjected to significant mechanical stress. If this is the case, a threadlocker is the better choice.

Locking: the most secure connection

For the most reliable sealing and fastening, a threadlocker offers the best solution. Depending on the application, you can choose a medium-strength adhesive, which allows for disassembly with hand tools, or a high-strength adhesive, that makes disassembly more difficult.

Degrease the surfaces before applying adhesive

Degrease, clean, and dry the surfaces to be bonded with Loctite 7063 before applying the adhesive. Pre-treatment with Loctite 7649 Activator is recommended, as this will ensure faster curing.
