Q Plus is your trusted partner for pneumatics, compressed air distribution, quick couplings, and rotary joints. Our core values are a high level of expertise, tailored advice and engineering, and technical support under competitive conditions.
Q Plus was founded in 1988 as a one-man business in a small office in Hardinxveld-Giessendam. The entire warehouse consisted of a single Ikea rack. After the first year, we were granted representation of Stäubli SA, the world’s leading manufacturer of quick couplings. This made Q Plus the first in the Netherlands to sell compressed air safety couplings. The introduction of safe and reliable quick couplings laid a strong foundation for the company.
Our technical expertise, combined with the high quality of our products, resulted in steady growth. The number of employees gradually increased. In 1994, the quick coupling range was expanded with rotary joints from Turian. This immediately distinguished Q Plus in the market, combining a customer-focused approach with strong technical know-how.
Around the same time, our sister company Rakor was established, specifically to serve the technical trade. Rakor primarily sold Prevost quick couplings, but as it grew, the administrative and logistical overhead became too great. To avoid unnecessary costs, Rakor was integrated into Q Plus.
Around 1996, pneumatics became part of our product portfolio. After some initial exploration, by 2000 we had established partnerships with our current suppliers. Many customers quickly recognised the strength of this network of pure specialists with low overhead costs. From the outset, this has allowed Q Plus to offer a highly competitive package of high-quality pneumatic products.
This strategy has never changed — quality, expertise, customisation, strong stock levels, efficient logistics, and competitive pricing remain the core values of Q Plus.
Due to our success and growth in the first decade, we decided in the late 1990s to build our own premises. On 1 January 2000, we moved into our current headquarters at Kubus 200 in Sliedrecht.
Following the 2008 financial crisis, price competition in the market intensified. To remain competitive, Q Plus had already invested early in logistics automation. In 2007, we installed our first two Kardex shuttles in the warehouse to maximise available space and improve efficiency. Over time, four more shuttles were added.
By 2016, Q Plus had accumulated decades of experience in the agricultural sector, both through market involvement and product development. These were combined into our own brand: MelQ. This unique product line brings together all improvements for agricultural applications into one complete compressed air package — from compressors to air cylinders.
Today, Q Plus is both an efficient logistics partner, guaranteeing fast delivery of your orders, and an innovative product developer eager to solve your technical challenges.
