ISO 15552 cylinder with integrated end-position lock

Only movement via control of your system

Thanks to this mechanical safety function, the cylinder cannot move without a signal being given from the control of your system; in all other cases, the locking pin will be pushed by spring force into the retaining groove of the piston rod.

Advantages compared to a piston rod lock

  • To install a piston rod lock, an extended piston rod must be used. As a result, the installation length is no longer in accordance with ISO 15552.
  • The maximum holding force of a piston rod lock is limited; if this value is exceeded, the cylinder will still start to move.
  • No additional air connections are required. The release activation is controlled by internal air.

Industrial or extra robust for the agricultural industry

In addition to the standard version for industrial use, the PMK series is also available in the robust RC version. This version was specially developed for use in the agricultural sector and comes standard with high-quality corrosion-resistant aluminium and a special wiper ring to keep out dirt. This type of cylinder is widely used in milking parlours as a safety feature on access gates.

The integrated lock is available for cylinder bores of 63 mm and 80 mm, for fixation in the retracted position, extended position, or both positions. For optimal performance, pressure must be present on both sides of the piston. Therefore, actuation with a 5/3 valve with open centre position is not recommended.
