The G-V series is a multi-passage high-pressure rotary joint for swivel and rotary applications, suitable for oil, water, air, and vacuum at low speeds. Available in sizes from DN06 to DN13, with smaller or larger versions on request. The seal consists of a high-quality reinforced Teflon® glide ring on a hardened and polished rotating shaft. The static housing seal is a pressure-activated O-ring in NBR, or in FKM upon request.
Leakage of the medium towards the bearings is prevented by leakage outlets, which are connected to a central port. This leakage outlet may, but does not necessarily have to, be connected.
The rotating shaft is supported by two ball bearings. Turian always uses ball bearings to ensure that the shaft cannot shift axially under pressure changes. This prevents seal wear caused by axial shaft movement and ensures that the seals are not exposed to rotational forces.
For oil, air, and vacuum applications, the housing is made of anodised aluminium and the shaft of steel. For water applications, a brass housing with stainless steel shaft is used.
On request, the rotary joint can also be supplied with housings in:
The maximum pressure is 250 bar for liquids and 12 bar for air. Versions for higher pressures are available on request. Heat dissipation from the seals on the shaft is less efficient with air, and especially with stationary air, than with oil or water. This limits the speed in air applications to swivel use or up to 50 rpm, depending on size. The standard flange connection is axial with O-ring. Axial or radial threaded connections are available on request.
Customer-specific designs, also in combination with a slip ring, are possible. Customer requirements are developed by Q Plus in CAD. Once the design has been reviewed and approved by the customer, pricing is requested from Turian. This ensures a very short lead time from request to quotation.
