What is an Adsorption Dryer?

Adsorption dryers use two vessels filled with special granules (the adsorbent) to remove water vapour from the air. They do this very efficiently, achieving a guaranteed dew point of up to -40 °C, meaning moisture will only appear in your installation at even lower temperatures.

When one vessel is saturated with adsorbent, it is regenerated with a limited amount of dry air taken from the other vessel. This extracted air is also called purge air.

If the adsorbent becomes contaminated by (compressor) oil, you only need to replace the inexpensive granules and the pre-filter — the housing with vessels and electronics remains in use. An adsorption dryer is highly robust and often the best solution when extremely dry air is required in your process.

Filters Model 1 and 2 Are Not Interchangeable
