About IO-Link

IO-Link is a point-to-point communication between the IO-Link device and the IO-Master. The IO-Master communicates with a higher-level bus protocol such as Profinet, Profibus, CANopen, EtherCAT or Ethernet/IP. IO-Link was developed to enable monitoring of the lowest level in automation systems, such as sensors and actuators.

A major advantage of IO-Link is that when a component is replaced, the PLC does not need to be reprogrammed — IO-Link automatically recognises the new device.

The interface includes the following integrated diagnostic functions: system diagnostics, communication diagnostics, and short-circuit protection.

Because communication is entirely digital, there is no loss of accuracy when converting from a digital to an analogue signal.

The maximum cable length is 20 metres.

Depending on the required flow, you can choose between S1V and S2V.

Multipole: Direct Connection with One Cable

The SV series valve terminals with multipole connection are easy to install. Instead of wiring each valve individually, a single cable connects directly to, for example, the I/O of your PLC.

Should all air connections be placed on the baseplate? Or should the outlet ports be connected directly on the valve?

When using the baseplate, valves can be replaced easily without disconnecting hoses. Choosing air connections on the valve itself, however, provides more flexibility for connecting tubing to different consumers in various directions.

Depending on the required flow, you can choose between two versions: S1V and S2V.

Individually Wired

Centralised system control, with all valves assembled on a single baseplate. This means you don’t have to mount each valve separately on your machine or in a control cabinet. Wiring can be done directly to, for example, a terminal strip or the I/O of the PLC. The supply and exhaust air are centralised on the baseplate and can be connected from either side. Simple, compact, and highly reliable.
