Single acting cylinders

The HSM cylinder is a single acting cylinder, normally in. This is ensured by the internal spring. With compressed air, the cylinder extends against the spring force. When the compressed air is released, the cylinder retracts to its initial position by means of the spring. Due to the spring, this cylinder has slightly less force during the outward stroke.

These cylinders are also known as push cylinders and are often used for clamping, ejecting, and pressing parts. They are also applied in situations where safety requirements demand that, in the event of an interruption of the compressed air supply, the cylinder must always return to its initial position.
